About Jeff

Jeff moved to the Bloomington community in 2012 with his wife of 21 years and his two daughters.  He grew up in a working class family in which his dad served in the Marines and worked as a tool & die maker.  

Jeff was the first one from his family to attend college.  While in college, he interned for two summers in the Fort Wayne Economic Development Department.  He graduated from Franklin College with majors in economics, journalism and political science,  After attending Indiana University Law School at Indianapolis, he passed the bar and practiced 18 years as a trial attorney in Indianapolis, representing defendants in civil suits.

While in Indianapolis, Jeff served on the board of the non-profit Center of Wellness for Urban Women which helps women and their families living in urban communities to take action in their health and well-being through education, prevention, advocacy and care.

Since Jeff moved to Bloomington he has watched one daughter graduate from Normal Community High School and another start high school.  His wife Agnes works in the Normal Community library. 

In 2017, Jeff graduated from the Multicultural Leadership Program.  Through MCLP Jeff learned the importance of servant leadership and gained other leadership skills.  As part of MCLP, Jeff served on a team that assisted the Labyrinth program of the YWCA of McLean County in their goal to start a business that would employ women coming out of prison.  

Jeff graduated from Bloomington 101 where he learned about different departments of the City. He also serves on the City's Cultural Commission and is a board member for Heartland Head Start.
